Pelvic Floor Disorders
Women present to gynaecologists with many different types of pelvic floor problems.
Bladder problems, Prolapse and Bowel problems.
Bladder problems:
If you are experiencing abnormal urinary symptoms such as incontinence (leakage), frequency, urgency, nocturia (waking frequently at night to pass urine), slow or incomplete emptying - then you need assessment at our clinic. We provide a comprehensive assessment of urinary problems in women by performing urodynamic tests on-site.
Prolapse:
Prolapse is where parts of the uterus, vagina, bladder and rectum may protrude and become obvious producing symptoms such as a bulge or lump. Some patients may experience pelvic discomfort or backache.
Bladder and bowel function may be adversely affected by prolapse. The doctors at Northwest Womens Health have extensive experience in managing these type of problems. You will be assessed comprehensively and managed appropriately with skill and sympathy.
Bowel:
Prolapse can adversely affect your bowel function, and our gynaecologists have expertise in this area. Symptoms include being unable to empty your bowels properly in the presence of a lump coming through the vagina. Our doctors will carefully assess the primary cause for your symptoms and advise you accordingly. We also work closely with a network of colo-rectal surgeons should they be required.
